The Church of Kelemvor's source for knowledge of our Lord is both textual and inspirational. The textual references that we rely on for knowledge of our Lord are listed below, with links to where they can be purchased.

Primary Source Bookshelf
This bookshelf provides all of our references in one easy to access location.

If you're looking for a specific book, whether to complete your collection or to learn about a particular detail of our faith's background, you will most likely find it in this list.

The Avatar series is a must for understanding how Kelemvor came into his godhood, and how he rose to the challenge of his Office.

Shadowdale
The first book in the Avatar series, Shadowdale, introduces us to Kelemvor Lyonsbane, a man cursed by his lineage.
Tantras
The second book in the Avatar series, Tantras, follows Kelemvor and his companions as they cope with the chaos wrought by the Time of Troubles.
Waterdeep
The third book in the Avatar series, Waterdeep, reveals the depths of Cyric's evil, as he murders Kelemvor in his plot to achieve godhood.
Prince of Lies
The fourth book in the Avatar series, Prince of Lies, gives us Kelemvor's ascent to godhood, as the souls of the dead rise up against the evil of Cyric.
Crucible: The Trial of Cyric the Mad
The final book in the Avatar series, Crucible: The Trial of Cyric the Mad, reveals, through the eyes of one of Cyric's worshipers, how Kelemvor shed the last of his mortality, that he might better serve the demands of his Office.

The following books are more general reference material, which provide valuable insight into the nature and teachings of our faith.

Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting
A reference for more than just our faith, what information it provides about Kelemvor is current as of 1372 DR.
Player's Guide to Faerûn
Another reference, with somewhat less information, but what information there is, is on a more personal level. This reference is also current as of 1372 DR.
Faiths and Pantheons
This book describes the nature and worship of many gods, and is also current as of 1372 DR. This places the events of Crucible somewhere during 1373 DR or later. Exactly when, is hard to say from the textual evidence.
Faiths and Avatars
This book describes the nature and worship of many gods, and as far as its treatment of Kelemvor is concerned, appears to date to around 1369 or 1370 DR. There is more discussion of the church and its practices in this book than in Faiths and Pantheons, and so can be used as a starting point for prayerful questioning and exploration, while remembering that it is a bit more out of date.
